About Colmao Flamenco
Located in the Melbourne's Spanish area, on Johnson Street, Colmao Flamenco presents an eclectic array of the most delicious and authentic Spanish food and carefully blended sangria. The restaurant has an alluring atmosphere adorned with decorative and vibrant Spanish festival posters, ornate rustic lighting, Mediterranean wooden slatted plastered walls and a vaulted ceiling. Even more enticing is the rear section, which is popular for functions and groups, with its intimate candlelit ambience and toasty antique fireplace.
Dine at Colmao Flamenco for Melbourne's most mouth-watering and traditional paella. The paella owes their flavour to the quality mix of seafood, chicken, spices and precise cooking process (vegetarian paellas or solely chicken or seafood paellas also available). These paellas combined with an elaborate decoration of olives, red capsicum and lemon wedges make for a visual and savoury feast.
Colmao's sangria is so popular because it carefully blends selected red wine, spirits and fruit juices - all presented in decorative Spanish made clay vases and cups.
An extensive menu of tapas, mains and innovative cocktails will surely please. Of particular note are the garlic prawns and Spanish donuts or churros. The natural bronze colour of the prawns is highlighted and framed by the clay pots in which they are presented; all accompanied by a sizzling spicy sauce. The churros are guaranteed to be a favourite as numerous churros are creatively presented with an ample amount of luscious homemade chocolate sauce.
Colmao has an extremely welcoming and cosy reception, being highly decorated with vibrant framed Spanish festival posters, ornate rustic lighting, Mediterranean wooden slatted plastered walls, vaulted ceiling and well stocked bar. Even more surprising is the rear section; popular for functions or groups, it is candlelit and adorned with an antique fireplace – very romantic.
Colmao's catering service will ensure any event is made special; with a particularly Spanish flair. Guests at catered functions will enjoy watching the paellas being prepared by the well attired staff of Colmao. All food is freshly prepared onsite using authentic large paella pans (over a metre in diameter) and specially designed cooking equipment. Colmao will open solely for lunches or in house functions of groups of ten or more. Special arrangements can also be made to have a live Flamenco and acoustic performance. Ole! Ole! Ole!
